I just got back from the local theatre and I must say that this movie by far (for me anyway) beats out other movies such as Braveheart and The Gladiator for ‘edge of your seat’ epic battles. If there is one movie you will be seeing this week or month, I would definitely go see 300. If you have an IMAX theatre that is playing the movie, I would strongly urge you to go see it there as this is one movie that the largest screen possible is a necessity.   

For those who don’t know what 300 is about, it is based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller in which King Leonidas of the Spartans and 300 of his best men go out and try to hold back the invading Persian army of Xerxes who are set to conquer the world.

The cinematography is remarkable and unique. The violence portrayed in 300 can be a bit gruesome at times but it is not like a horror film where there is nothing but blood.  But is there a story behind all this action? Why sure there is and a good one at that, but I won’t get into it because, well you’ll just have to go out and see it for yourself. Remember see it on the biggest possible screen you can!

I can’t wait for this one to hit DVD, and I hope to have a large wide-screen TV to watch it!
