Well December is a pretty busy month, not only are there three birthdays with my family it is also the Christmas Season and hanging out with friends and family. This year has been a bit different though, it has been a first for a couple things for me; my first Christmas tree (even if it’s artificial), the first time I cooked the Christmas dinner.

My First Christmas Tree As My Own
My first Christmas tree was a fun little experience. Working my way around the three sections unfolding the branches and arranging it to look more realistic took me a good hour of time. Being that I have never had my own tree before I also needed to purchase lights for it. I went with blue and white LED lights. Only when I first purchased two strings, it wasn’t enough. They covered only the top third so I had to go out again and purchase another three strings ending up with a total length of 60 feet of LED Christmas lights for my tree. Luckily a friend of mine gave me a couple boxes of tree ornaments for my tree as well since I kept forgetting to pick them up and the tree looked naked.
On Christmas Eve we went over to my Dad’s place and had Chinese food. I’ve always been curious why people get Chinese food for Christmas Eve other than the reason of not having to cook anything.

Snowing Christmas Day – First for Vancouver in a Long Time

My First Cooking of the Christmas Turkey!
Christmas Day was fairly straight forward but it was my day to cook to the turkey and various other dishes for the evening’s dinner. Cooking a turkey was surprisingly not as hard as I thought and after a few hours it came out moist and flavorful! Everyone seemed to like it and stuffed themselves on it as well.
Now today (December 27th) is one of the greatest days in the year. That’s right it’s my birthday! 28 years ago today I was brought into this world and have enjoyed every minute of it! It so far has been great and I am currently on 2 hours of sleep with 6 more hours left in my work day. Dinner is to partake later in the evening at Steamworks in Gastown (Vancouver) and I am looking forward to it.
Blog wise, December has not been very productive, which is a shame because I do enjoy writing posts when I think of them and I also enjoy the creative side of maintaining and updating this site. As I keep mentioning, I hope to find a better way of coming up with interesting topics for which I can write and post them on a more constant basis.
