So I am sitting here eating a delicious lemon poppy seed muffin I decided to have a bit-o-fun surfing the web, and what not better way to do so by playing a bit of Blog Hopscotch?
Now you may ask: What is Blog Hopscotch? Well I decided that it is going from one blog to another using the various links that people have on their blogs that link them to others.
So far today I find it interesting. I started off over at RodTempleton.net jumped over to JohnChow.com but then split into three separate tabs (using Firefox) to visit MattCoddington.com, StephenFung.net and Garethhodson.com. Anyway I’ve been bouncing around various blogs reading their first few topics that interest me and posting comments when need be.
Everyone has interesting stories or tidbits that are either about personal experiences or whatever else. It is also fun to get out and see what other Bloggers are talking about. I tend to go about 10 blogs deep clicking on Blog Rolls or Friends/Family links and it ranges from all over the world.
The other nice thing about doing this is the traffic I get back from leaving comments on various blogs. I guess it is a small form of advertising too. If someone comments on my site, I’ll definitely go over to their site and see what’s going on. I guess a part of Blogging is the network aspect of it right? Meeting new people (even if not in real life) while sharing opinions and experiences about various topics.
So do you Blog Hopscotch and if so how often and how deep?

I find myself following the links of people in the comments more than the blogroll/family&friend links. As a matter of fact, following the comment links is how I ended up here from John Chow’s site.
Although I used your People links to explore Stephen Fung’s site. So I guess I do a little of both but would say I follow comment links more than other links.

I have a list of about 20 blogs I read every day or so. Most of the time I will take a look at people on their lists but it is usually just a glance unless I find an entry that really interests me.

I found this blog from John Chow too, I always end up spending hours browsing blogs, there’s always a link to something else that interests you!

I go through my link backs every day. There’s some really weird places my blog posts end up. Then of course, whenever you comment on my blog, I’ll give you a quick visit to see what’s up

Found via john chow as well. Enjoyed this article as I’m new to blogging and playing hopscotch. Funny I ran across this article since my daughter asked me for the first time to play hopscotch with her.

I used to hopscotch but now I don’t. The great benefit in my opinion is that you may stumble upon something really good, something interesting … it helps me develop new thoughts and ideas.

I hardly ever bother with blogrolls and have just removed one from my sidebar in the belief that my readers are even less likely to bother with my blogrolls than I am. I wasn’t that interested in too many of the blogs on the roll I had joined as it turned out. If someone leaves an interesting comment on any blog I am reading then I’ll likely skip to their blog and then onto others through interesting comments I might find there, etc. – but so many blogs, so little time.

I’ve been hopping between sites based on the comments people leave as well. There are a lot blogs out there, when I start hopping I keep a text document of the URLs I’ve been to so I can easily reference them if I do a speed-linking post.
