Back From Vernon, BC Part 2

Writen By Tyler Ingram on Jun 27, 2007

I was able to check into my hotel a little earlier than expected which was good because I was running out of things to do before meeting up with a friend, so I header over to the hotel which held my reservations; The Prestige Hotel and Conference Center. I choose this hotel because they gave me their corporate rate which ultimately saved me $100 over the course of my stay. The Prestige in Vernon is a 4.5 Star hotel that has all the amenities that someone might be looking for. I particularly like the complimentary high-speed wireless internet they offer their guests and at speeds of 450Kbps down and 300Kpbs up I wasn’t going to complain.

One thing I do like about Vernon is the landscape. I am used to the Vancouver area which is surrounded by the North Shore Mountains such as Mount Seymour and Grouse Mountain. Vernon on the other hand is in the North Okanagan and is surrounded by rolling hills. I love the contrast that these hills have against the sunny, cloud spotted sky. No wonder why my license plate says Best Place On Earth. British Columbia offers so many different types of beautiful landscapes.

Now that I am reading over this it seems I am turning my blog into more of an online diary and that is one thing I did not want to do, well not get into too much detail anyway. Overall my trip to Vernon to visit a friend was most fabulous and I had a good time. I hope one day to visit more places around British Columbia and well other parts of the world too.

On a side note the trip to Vernon took roughly 5 hours, but the trip back (if you take away my stop over for gas and food in Merritt) took 3.5 hours. Is it me or do the trips home always seem to go quicker than the trips to the destination?

Shark energy drink is the unofficial beverage of the drive been Vernon and Pitt Meadows for this particular road trip.
