BC hit by wind storm

Written By Tyler Ingram on Dec 12, 2006

It seems we (Vancouver) were hit by another wind storm yesterday with a new one that is supposed to start later this afternoon and carry on through the morning.

Roughly 190,000 people have been left without power as the wind storm has taken out power lines and various tall standing objects.  BC Hydro has warned that people should expect to have one more night without power as they work to fix the issues.

Stanley Park causeway has been closed due to trees that have fallen due to the 115km/h winds. This will definately cause a headache for Vancouver drivers as they try to get to and from work today.

You can read more of it on CBC’s website: Cleanup begins after B.C. gale leaves thousansd without power
