Blog Stats For August 2008

It is that time yet again when bloggers go over the previous month statistics to see how they are doing. I too enjoy going over my statistics via Google Analytics and comparing the results against the month before. As with previous months there has been an overall steady increase with the traffic I have been receiving. Sure it is not like those bigger blog sites but I definitely like seeing an increase nonetheless.

Quick Breakdown

Alright the following are the numbers that Google Analytics records for me in regards to traffic. If I keep this up perhaps I can reach 10K in visits sooner than expected.

• Visits: 5,053 (+34.1%)
• Pageviews: 7,166 (+11.83%)

It seems to be a healthy steady increase in traffic volumes right? Seeing the numbers of Visitors and Pageviews increase each month tells me that people do enjoy what I write (or at least tolerate it) and that some of the information I do provide is useful as well.

Overall the trend of my traffic seems to be on the upward movement and as long as I continue to post here on my blog I would like to think it continues heading that way as well.

August 2008 Earnings

Alright now for the part that some people tend to keep track of for other people’s websites, the monthly earnings. I have not strived to earn any more than the previous months but I would like to say that with the continued increase of traffic my general revenue via Google AdSense has slowly gone up as well. Not enough to crack open the champagne and make a toast but it helps prove to me what I say all the time about generating extra money on a blog; you need traffic to generate revenue. No traffic, no money!

• Kontera: $2.34 (-0.69%)
• Private Ad Sales: $15.00

Total Revenue for August 2008: $35.43 (-0.90%)

So there you have it, I have had a drop in revenue over the month of August compared to that of July. I was expecting a bit higher result this month with AdSense and it looks like I am down about $2.00. Not a big loss but if I am trying to get to the magical $100 mark so they will send me my first cheque then I have a little bit more to go.

Predictions for September

Well I do not seem to have any predictions for what will happen in September. I tend not to plan out my month in regards to what I post or when I post them. I do have a couple of reviews I need to complete which should be on their way within the next little bit one to do with Sony Ericsson the other to do with some Apple iPod Nano gear.
