I like to keep eyes on my blog’s stats periodically and in tradition of other bloggers I like to see my month to month stats. Are they good? Are they bad? They aren’t impressive but as long as my traffic goes up I’m happy.
March 2008 Traffic Stats
- 2209 Page Views (+20%)
- 1343 Visits (+42.4%)
- 76.02% Bounce Rate (+2%)
So overall my traffic has increased (which is what I like to see and want to see) but my bounce rate went up 2 %. Bounce Rate I would like to decrease because that would mean more people are staying on my site reading other pages after they’ve read the page they landed on.
Blog Income for March 2008
- Google Adsense: $1.82 (-94.5%)
- Private Ads Sales: $15.00
- Total Income: $16.82
As you can see I don’t make money with Google’s AdSense, how would you expect to when your CTR is 1%? I would like to see more income from private ads as I believe they offer a better result for both me as well as the company the ad is for.

Those are alright stats, but did you ever consider being a bit more aggressive? Your Google Ad is currently in a “cold” spot. Try Putting that on the top… I really think it could help increase your income… it worked for me… ClickforNick

It’s possible to do. Not entirely sure about wordpress.com hosted sites though. I think its more for the self-hosted wordpress sites. I don’t even know if you can put up ads on blogger either.
You need to be able to a) add a plugin for handling ads or b) be able to edit the scripts that deal with displaying your content to be able to add in the code to generate the ads.
