Booked for WordCamp Whistler 2009
I just finished and confirmed our WordCamp Whistler 2009 hotel reservation for the Fairmont Chataeu Whistler at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. This should be a pretty fun and interesting WordPress Wordcamp as well as a good day for some ski and snowboarding too. Robyn and I are looking forward to getting up to Whistler/Blackcomb for this WordPress event, not to mention get in a couple runs in on Sunday. Robyn and I will also be looking forward on reporting the ski and snowboard conditions of the mountain on WestCoast Alpine (our co-authored WordPress based blog) as well as our day on the slopes.
Will I Be Speaking?
I won’t be, though perhaps one day I will. I’m shy in front of large groups of people. There are numerous topics I could probably go over in regards to WordPress but I will be available to answer questions anyone might happen about WordPress while we’re up there. In fact in the new year also I will be launching an new project of mine that has to do with WordPress…more details coming soon.
Where is the Fairmont?
Well if you are going to make it up to Whistler for this exciting WordPress WordCamp, the Fairmont (Chateau Whistler) is located in the Upper Village at the base of Blackcomb. Pretty much a ski in and out location. The Wizard Express chair is right there at the backdoor of the Fairmont.
The Whistler Village is about a 5-10 minute walk from the Fairmont so getting to the shopping, restaurants, and the bar scene is pretty easy if you are going to stay at the Fairmont.
So if you can make it up besure to say hi to Robyn and myself. We’re both looking forward to going up, meeting everyone there, having fun and also hitting the slopes!

Oh don’t worry Tyler, I will have plenty of questions for you. You’ll be busy the whole time you’re there (are you scared yet muahahahaha!) I’m going with the intention of figuring out how to move to self-hosted afterwards. Hope I can pack enough info into my brain
Merry Christmas Tyler!
I’m still thinking about coming up for WordCamp Whistler. I think I might just register for the session and figure out accommodations… the Fairmont is a bit expensive.
I also don’t really know anyone going so I’m a bit nervous :S
Merry belated Christmas to you too Allie! I’m still nervous when I go to these things lol (wordcamp that is) I know a few people but always looking to meet more. It’s easier if you’ve talked to people online via like Twitter or even on your blog. I do agree that the Fairmont is expensive since we got back from Whistler staying at the Executive inn for $159 a night or something, and that is in the village 5min walk from the Fitzimons chair and Whistler gondola.
Should be fun nonetheless. I know Robyn and I will come by and say hi if we see you
