Battery (lithium ion) is great and lasts a long time between chargers. As for photo count, greater than 600 I would say per charge.

It’s a Lithium batter and I’ve taken over 400 photos since it’s first charge so far and I haven’t had to charge it yet. That’s also showing the pictures via the LCD screen to people as well as playing back movies on it. I last charged it 5 days ago at least.

I just got the SD870 on the weekend. I’m still trying to figure out why my photos look more yellow on the LCD screen when I’m in Manual Mode. It doesn’t do the same thing in Automatic mode. I haven’t had a chance to see what the photos look like on my monitor, so I hope everything turns out okay :-/
