It looks more and more like I've been slowly creeping my way into becoming a birder. Not totally a true birder, but I do really enjoy getting outside with my camera and shooting the various birds in our area.
As I write this, I do believe I do have a couple more posts to do about the Winter Olympics here in Vancouver. I hope that I can get out and see … Continue Reading »

The Canadian Mint put up an exhibit in Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympics to showcase the Olympic and Paralympic Medals that are to be won by the various athletes. It is the only time the Olympic Medals have ever been on public display, let alone allow the public to handle them.
When Robyn and I arrived at where the Canadian Mint was set up there was already a decent sized … Continue Reading »

I mentioned in my previous post about the trip I took up to Whistler courtesy of Travel Alberta that I would talk about, at least show photos of, the 4-man Bobsled event I got to see. So that will be pretty much what this post is all about.
Now Keith and I only stayed for Heat 3 as we wanted to get down to the village from the Whistler Sliding Centre … Continue Reading »

Some of you might have noticed a lack in the blogging department here during the Winter Olympics and I would have to agree. I've been fairly busy being outside with my camera and capturing what I can of the Winter Olympics. As with most people, it is a once in a life time experience, especially when it is happening in your home town. I've uploaded a few photos over on … Continue Reading »

Alright so I haven't kept up to blogging as much as I would have liked to but the past few days have been pretty hectic with the Olympics happening here in Vancouver. Yea, I'm sure by now most people will know that Vancouver is host to the 2010 Winter Olympic games.
In the past few days I have gotten to take photos of Maelle Ricker, Alexandre Bilodeau, visited various areas of … Continue Reading »

It wasn't long until I posted more photos of birds. I like birds. Well, I think it's more the relaxing area in which to photograph birds is what I like more, especially on days when there are not many people.
Yesterday was a beautiful day here in Vancouver. The sun was shining, the clouds were late in rolling in and people buzzed around the West End. Yes, they are still trucking … Continue Reading »

I'll change things up a little bit today for the photos that were taken around Vancouver. Instead of showing the various bird photos I took, and yes I did take some, I thought I would share some of the photos from around the city. Though after a quick look, most of the photos came from roughly the same area.
GM Place is slowly being converted over to Canada Hockey Place. They … Continue Reading »

I remember the first day that I signed up for a Flickr photo account, one of the free offers they gave to people signing up was a box of free Moo MiniCards, though at that time I had no use for business cards.
What Are Moo MiniCards?
Moo MiniCards are small business cards that you get to design and create. You can use either your photos from a service such as Flickr, … Continue Reading »

The weather tried to cooperate today but it decided to not play nice and stay pretty overcast with the occasional rainy drizzle.
I've been monkying around with my Canon 7D custom functions and getting it to match my Canon XSi so that when I go use both camera bodies, I don't have any issues with one working a different way than the other. I use * button on the back to … Continue Reading »

Now by no means am I a camera flash expert, so the following is just what I've observed in the last little bit messing around with my new Canon 7D and it's wireless flash controller feature.
I've been wanting to take my photography to a new level and one way I thought about doing it was the use of a flash. I don't mean that wimpy pop-up flash that all dSLR … Continue Reading »
