Where is this in Vancouver?
I thought I would try something new with my blog and that is taking photos around the Vancouver area and having people guess where they are. I'll have to pick a day, but for now I'll just post them whenever I find something different or out of place. I will try and vary the difficulty as well. Most photos will be around the Vancouver (downtown area), … Continue Reading »

Today I walked along the seawall to Waterfront on my way to school. I guess not many people are up at 6:30am as I was along during the entire stretch of seawall until I got to the skytrain station.
Today is my last day of finals here at BCIT. This weekend will be awesome and both Robyn and I are excited for it! … Continue Reading »

I've been using my phone a lot for photos. Since I'm usually on my way to or from school, I don't have room for my dSLR, but that's ok. I love the quality of the iPhone4 and I seem to like the Clarity feature of Camera+ iPhone App.
I have 1 more exam to go and then school is done for 4 months! I got a Co-op position so I am … Continue Reading »

Today I thought I would take my time to get to school. Today is the first final exam we have for this term so a nice and relaxing walk to the Skytrain station was that I wanted.
I walked from our place in the WestEnd, down Pender to Waterfront. It's still a bit chilly outside, but without the rain, it is quite a nice walk. In fact, the rest of the … Continue Reading »

This is my stop along the Expo LineĀ in Burnaby, Patterson Station. I catch the #125 (seen above right) to get to BCIT.
I don't know if I liked the over saturation colours, but I like the vanishing point of the SkyTrain track into distance. … Continue Reading »

Today is the first day of one of the best events up at Whistler/Blackcomb, the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival or the WSSF.
This year, due to school, I am unable to attend any of the event really. Though with our wedding on April 23rd, I might get to drop by and say hi to the variety of WSSF event crew I've met while being a photographer up there in … Continue Reading »

Who here takes public transportation in the city you live in? I don't mind taking transit here in Vancouver and I've had my fair-share of oddities while using it.
I took the photo today with my iPhone, loaded it into Camera+ and used the Clarity feature, which is more like a faux-HDR type filter. I like how it gave it a grainy-type look though.
I know I haven't talked much about the … Continue Reading »

When it is not raining, I tend to walk from the WestEnd to the Burrard Street SkyTrain station and on my way I always walk past this waterfall. This particular one is at the corner of Thurlow and Melville and it is definitely one of the nicer ones in the city.
I remember someone telling me a while ago that the reason why various buildings in a downtown centre have waterfalls … Continue Reading »

Super Pipe on Blackcomb in Whistler/Blackcomb
With the recent decision by the IOC to have Skiing Half-pipe as a event at the upcoming Winter Olympics in 2014 in Sochi, I thought I would look through my various skiing superpipe photos from the recent Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler. The skiers were MUCH better than the snowboarders. The snowboarders were either still drunk, or really hung-over and were unable … Continue Reading »

Today is kind of the chilly and cloudy sorts, so I thought I would try and add a bit more colour to your day by uploading one of the cherry blossom photos I took while over at the VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver.
I did bump up the vibrancy a little to bring out the colours in the drab cloudy day. Hope you like it, I have taken a bunch of … Continue Reading »
