It's been a while since we've had time to hit up the snowy action here in Vancouver so I thought I would post another photo from our last trip to Cypress. This was taken while riding up Sky-Chair. If you've never been to the top of Mount Strachan, let alone Cypress, you're missing out! Sure, the other mountain might offer a spectactular view of Vancouver, but Cypress does as well. … Continue Reading »

It's a crisp Monday morning and I am sitting here in the EhPod at BCIT going over some Math homework when I started thinking about the recent photos I took over the weekend. Now, due to school I have not been able to get out much with my camera but I do try and find at least sometime to take a photo or two.
I have mentioned in the past that … Continue Reading »

I was going through my archive of photos (I have gigabytes upon gigabytes of them it seems) looking for a particular juvenile bald eagle photo I took, for my buddy Keith who is wanting to have it printed and thought I would post one from a series of photos of the same bird.
The above shot was just before he took to the air as an adult bald eagle swooped down … Continue Reading »

I've been waiting to get out and take some photos, but with school I don't have much time. The weather lately hasn't been the nicest to really go outside. Today on the way home, I stood at the back of the last car on the SkyTrain and though I would try and get some shots with my iPhone. I've mentioned how I dislike my iPhone's camera quality but it doesn't … Continue Reading »

I know you all like to see various photos, so why not post a few from a walk Robyn and I did the other day around the Seawall?
Lions and Grouse
Common Goldeneye's in Flight
Oyster Catcher in Flight
Yup, a couple bird shots and a neat (to me) perspective of Lions Gate Bridge with Grouse Mountain in the background. The weather has been pretty good up until today (snow at varying depths around … Continue Reading »

Tomorrow, I start my second term at BCIT, but I did manage to get out of the house and into the chilly foggy morning for a little photowalk with my buddy Keith (@PacificEagle). We just slowly made out way towards Third Beach in Stanley Park back to my neck of the woods in the West End. Other than a chilly walk, it was fairly busy today along the seawall.
Here are … Continue Reading »

One of our friends was staying up at Whistler last week so on Friday we headed up to Whistler to meet them to do a bit of skiing and snowboarding. The great thing about that particular day was the weather, it was pretty much a blue bird day.Temperatures were chilly in the shade, but mildly warm in the direct sun, it was an awesome day!
Typical of a day trip, we … Continue Reading »

Last night just before we popped in a DVD to watch, I noticed that the moon was rising and was near full. I quickly setup the camera on the tripod and took a dozen or so photos of it.
Due to the construction of my cheap $20 tripod, along with the weight of my Canon EF 70-200 f2.8L IS lens, it was hard to get a good focus of the moon. … Continue Reading »

Alright, I just noticed something about Facebook that upsets me. Do you share your photos with people? Do you want people to be able to download your photos by just clicking on a link?
Remember how I mentioned way back in the day about Facebook Owning Your Photos? Well it seems they have decided to step up their sharing of photos a notch. They now allow people to download "high resolution" … Continue Reading »

One of the events we were able to check out while we were up at Creekside, was the 2010 VIESSMANN FIBT World Cup Bobsleigh and Skeleton event at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Unfortunately, we were unable to check out the Skeleton portion of the event where Olympian Jon Montgomery won another gold, but John did take some good photos of it! Since Saturday was the only day we had available … Continue Reading »
