One of the features of the iPhone 4 (or perhaps iOS 4?) is the ability to take HDR photos. Though with the iPhone, it takes 2 separate exposures as opposed to 3 or more like you would with an dSLR. It doesn't do a bad job, sometimes they turn out alright or at least decent. I do find that combining the iPhone HDR photos with the Clarity filter from the … Continue Reading »

Many people know that our beloved Vancouver Canucks are in the Finals for the Stanley Cup. Because of that, Premier Christy Clark relit the 2010 Winter Olympic Cauldron before Game 3. Unforunatly, the Canucks were mauled by the Boston Bruns in a horrible defeat 1 to 8.
These sunny days, I should really remember to bring my Canon XSi with me. My iPhone sometimes just doesn't do thing justice. Perhaps when … Continue Reading »

The landscaping around the Bayshore area of Coal Harbour is quite pretty and soothing, at least to me anyway. It seems that the variey of Condo buildings around the Coal Harbour area imploy a lot of water-based gardens. This particular one near the Westin Bayshore Hotel boasts an intricate maze of little water ways that eventually spill out around the property.
I'm going to have to go back there and do … Continue Reading »

A Great Blue Heron sits in the middle of Beaver Lake in Stanley Park.
I learned something about Blue Herons, you can judge their age based on their chest feathers. The long they are, the older they are. Though, I can't guess the exact age of the one above, but I would guess he's only been around for a year or two. … Continue Reading »

The great thing about being downtown Vancouver is the abundance of things you can photograph. Since the past few days have been sunny and warm, I thought it best to bring my camera along with me. After all, I walk to work everyday, rain or shine. I do find it odd of me though, when I go on a photowalk I end up not taking very many photos, especially if … Continue Reading »

Robyn and I headed over to Deep Cove today for a little hike/walk up to Gray Rock. It's about a 30-40minute walk/hike through the woods that ends up on a large granite boulder that over looks the Indian Arm region.
The above photo is one of many creeks and streams you cross and I thought I would try a bit of long-shutter photography on them to get that cotton-candy type effect. … Continue Reading »

See, I told you I would eventually get around to uploading some non-iPhone photos. This one is of the Devil's Punch Bowl on the coast of Oregon just off of Route 101 south of Depoe Bay.
When the tide is high, the ocean water shoots out of the large crater-type hole you see on the right side. Though, as you can see from the photo, the tide was not high enough … Continue Reading »

Today I walked along the seawall to Waterfront on my way to school. I guess not many people are up at 6:30am as I was along during the entire stretch of seawall until I got to the skytrain station.
Today is my last day of finals here at BCIT. This weekend will be awesome and both Robyn and I are excited for it! … Continue Reading »

I've been using my phone a lot for photos. Since I'm usually on my way to or from school, I don't have room for my dSLR, but that's ok. I love the quality of the iPhone4 and I seem to like the Clarity feature of Camera+ iPhone App.
I have 1 more exam to go and then school is done for 4 months! I got a Co-op position so I am … Continue Reading »

Today I thought I would take my time to get to school. Today is the first final exam we have for this term so a nice and relaxing walk to the Skytrain station was that I wanted.
I walked from our place in the WestEnd, down Pender to Waterfront. It's still a bit chilly outside, but without the rain, it is quite a nice walk. In fact, the rest of the … Continue Reading »
