Checking Out WordPress 2.5’s Gallery

I’ve been looking at some of my Dominican Republic beach photos and started thinking about the newest released version of WordPress (2.5) and how they offer a better photo gallery. Well I am not quite sure if it is a gallery but from I recall from a video clip I cannot find, is that you can insert a gallery tag into a post and it will display all the photos that you upload during that post.

The nice feature that the previous WordPress version did not have but 2.5 has is the ability to upload multiple photos at once. This makes it a lot easier for people who like to share their photos or even those tech review sites that use photos of products they are reviewing. Batch uploads are great, you can also add titles, descriptions and some other tidbits about the photos you are adding to your post.

As you can see all I did to insert the 4 photos from this post’s gallery is insert the tag [ gallery ]. Then when you click on the individual photo it comes up on its own page where people can leave their comments. Pretty cool right?

If they were to update this feature I would ask for at least the ability to add a watermark, either with text or an image of my choosing. This could help prevent people from linking/stealing photos from my site to use on their site without my permission. After all I do take some nice travel shots eh?
