Dine Out: California Style

Written By Tyler Ingram on Jan 22, 2008

Now since I am not in the country and on a business trip in San Diego, California, I haven’t been able to partake in the yearly event that Greater Vancouver holds; DineOut Vancouver. So I have had to make up for dining out and going places that I have never been to.

This brings up the California Burger joint called In-N-Out. The colour scheme reminds me of McDonald’s but the food reminds me of a local pub. When you enter the establishment (there are many dotted throughout the state as Nevada and Arizona) you will that their menu isn’t particular plentiful and the employees are wearing paper hats.

Their menu consists of Hamburgers and milkshakes. If you’re looking for something else you won’t find it here. They offer the Double-Double, cheeseburger, regular hamburger, fries and delicious milkshakes. Even though their menu is limited the flavor of these hamburgers are not.

You place your order and then have to wait for your number to be called. Why you might ask? They don’t start cooking your hamburger until you’ve placed your order, whereas those other fast-food restaurants pre-cook and then reheat their burgers.  Their french fries are also freshly made, directly from the potatoes that they wash, peel, and cut.

If you’re ever in the south western states of the US, I suggest you drop by In-N-Out and have a burger and tell me if they taste better than those other fast-food restaurants.

I’ve always wanted to try In-n-Out burger! My friends always go when they go to Vegas. Thanks for the reminding me! I must stop into one when I’m in Vegas in march!
