Dolce Hayes Mansion: San Jose, California
Last week I attended the SugarCON 2008 Conference in San Jose, California. The conference itself was held at the Dolce Hayes Mansion, a magnificent mansion with a bit of history to it.
Being opened to the public in 1994 the Mansion offers 214 guest rooms, more than 33,000 square feet of meeting space and 22 specially designed conference rooms. If you’re into the total relaxation then you can also book an appointment at their onsite spa.
It was roughly a 35-40 minute drive from San Francisco International (SFO), and about 10 minutes from the San Jose International (SJC). The Dolce Hayes Mansion is also situated near many vineyards such as the one we visited briefly; The Testarossa Vineyards.
The room I stayed at was typical of most hotel rooms; king sized bed, desk with high-speed internet access, a TV (not like the one I had at the Hilton Garden Inn), bar fridge and a nice sized bathroom.
Unfortunately there isn’t much more to comment on. The staff seemed to be friendly and helpful when you needed something (which is expected right?), the rooms were done up neatly and quickly while we were at our information sessions and the food was great. Being at a conference we were treated to the breakfast buffet and lunch buffet.
Overall the Dolce Hayes Mansion was nice. Though I don’t see myself going there to vacation, but as a business trip location it was enjoyable and relaxing.
