Finding Pay Per Click Companies: AdBrite

Written By Tyler Ingram on Jan 04, 2007

I wanted to see what other companies out there offered a Pay-Per-Click type service and I came across a company called AdBrite.  What I was looking for was an ad-block similar to the styles of Google’s AdSense so that I can incorporate it into my site without much trouble.

Who is AdBrite? Well AdBrite was started in 2002 by two guys (Phlip Kaplan and Gidon Wise) and is now used on roughly 34, 000 sites with about 767 Million page views as of January 4, 2007. They offer Text ads as well as Interstitial ads while beta testing a new service; Video based ads called in Video.  The video ads will be similar to YouTube but you will get money for embedding them on your website!

AdBrite offers a couple of various services, my focus will be more on the publisher side as that is what I am looking for; selling ad space on my lovely website.

Registration was fairly simple, they ask you all the basic questions like other sites do but they ask you what minimum amount you want your checks to be payable at which I think is cool and I choose a low number because I doubt I will ever make it over $50 any time soon. Upon successfully registering take you over to where you get to select your ad style.  I choose the horizontal block because it fits nicely between posts.  Formatting options for its style is similar to AdSense as well.

A neat feature that I like about AdBrite is you can choose whose ads you will display and who’s you want to reject. This is great if you want to fine tune what ads you wish to display on your site to target particular markets.   Currently I allow any family orientated ads as not to scare people away.

So for now I am happy with my placement. I am sure it can be placed better and I might add some script to my site to rotate the positioning of my ads and see which ones do better in which spot.

If you have had any experience with AdBrite, I’d love to hear about it so post them in the comment section.
