Alright I recently received a Flip Ultra which is a compact digital camcorder manufactured by Pure Digital. Some of you out there might be wondering what sort of quality the Flip Ultra has and let me tell you, for the size and price of this compact digital camcorder it is pretty impressive.
I will be working on a review of the Flip Ultra but for now I thought I would share with you the little video I did today after receiving the Flip. I am uncomfortable in front of the Flip because it is a really weird feeling talking to ones self. I mean there isn’t anything wrong with doing it and the more I do it I am sure I’ll become more comfortable with it but in the meantime it is kind of weird. Kudos to those who can sit in front of a camera and talk as if they were talking to people the room!
Please note that the video has been compressed by YouTube but I still believe for being uploaded and then streamed over the Internet the quality is quite good. My next task is to find out if the video quality of the Flip camcorder is better than that of my Canon SD750 digital camera.

Actually viewing the screen after taking motion shots (shooting a bit of video during the World Triathlon Championship in Vancouver). I’ll have to get the video up this week (probably monday).

The quality is actually pretty good – I’d like to buy one, but I tend to take more movies with my camera – which incidentally is the same as the one you are using. I’ve not uploaded the movies to the web, so am not sure how they compare to the Flip you’ve reviewed.

I still need to get the other video uploaded. I want to see how it compares to the Canon SD750 when in video mode but the digital camera is also twice the price as the Flip. So value wise the Flip I think is worth the money if you’re looking for a small, compact digital camcorder.
