For the Sake of Posting
How many people out there believe (in the terms of Blogging), if you don’t have anything to write about, don’t? How many out there believe you should at least try and post something every so often just to keep the grease flowing?
I’m sitting here at school, trying to think up of something to write about. Then I just thought I would look through the photos I have on my laptop, pick one, edit it and upload it so I could write something about nothing!
Well I guess it’s not really about nothing. I will share a photo with you though!

The above photo is a shot from the balcony of the suite we stayed at in Painted Boat Lodge in Pender Harbour. I keep meaning to write a blog post about the lodge itself, but with school I have become quite distracted away from my blog. I have a bunch of photos from our suite and the property and do want to write about it. It’s a great place to spend a few nights for some R&R, rain or shine!
Back to the other point I was thinking about. I find that if you do not write posts on a frequent basis, your visitor levels will drop. In my case, they haven’t dropped significantly or really at all, but I don’t want my content to become to stale. I do find that blogging (or just random writing) is a bit of a relaxation method, allowing me to sort of unplug from school.
Perhaps I should look at just posting photos here and there, write little blurbs about the photos too. What would you do? Would you just stop blogging if you don’t have the time, or would you sporadically post things just to keep people who do visit something new once in a while?
For those who have me in their RSS feeds, I’ll try and keep you entertained
For those who haven’t dropped by here in a while, how come? For those who are new to checking out my blog, welcome!

My suggestion is to get some guest posters lined up, so you don’t always have to be the one doing all the writing. Many of the blogs I read do that when the writer goes on vacation or need to take a hiatus.
Maybe some of your regular visitors have something to say? I’d write a post or two for you, but I’m not sure your audience would be all too interested in what I have to say.

Have a schedule. Here is mine:
Monday – link ‘love’ – best articles I read on other blogs
Tuesday – book review
Wednesday – “tech” stuff: blogging, web design etc.
Thursday – personal stuff. Random junk
Friday – my travels – pictures, places I’ve seen
Saturday – movie reviews
Sunday – “the vote”. Some random article and a poll people can vote in.
And this is how I don’t let any day pass without writing and having it all set it makes it easier to always have ideas.
Instead of writing 20 posts about my travels and then just random stuff, I can have all my “passions” sorted out and won’t bore my audience either. If they cannot swallow tech stuff, tomorrow’s something “easier” for them etc.
I also have 20-30 ideas in drafts at all times, so I really don’t run out of inspiration.
Now I don’t feel the “writer’s block” anymore, I have constant content on my blog, well organized and covering a lot of “areas”.

Hey Tyler, I know exactly how you feel! I haven’t quite been myself lately with my blogging… In my case it’s the opposite I think… I have so much content I need to post but just haven’t found the time to edit it all and post! Gah!
Anyway, I think posting one photo at a time with a small caption might help speed things up for you
That’s a great photo by the way, I like the tilt shift!
