Going Under The Knife

Written By Tyler Ingram on Apr 17, 2007

Well Wednesday is my day for Surgery. I opted to have them repair the tendon as opposed to just have the tendon try to reattach itself while my foot is in a cast. I’ll still have a cast on for 6 weeks but this way I know it will be aligned properly and attached properly too.

So I’ll be in the hospital for 1 overnight stay, and then I said I wouldn’t be back to work till at least Monday. But I really hate going up and down stairs so we’ll see how well I feel. Doctor said they would be using metal stitches or something so the increase of discomfort might be there.

I’m not looking forward to the cast though. My foot has to be placed at an angle so that the tendon will be relaxed. I guess it will be like wearing a 5 inch heeled boot that I won’t be able to take off. I’m going to be walking funny and I hope I get some physio to help strengthen it too.

Hopefully, the next 6 weeks won’t be that bad! Take care!

I hope not also. It will take a bit of getting used to though.

Thanks everyone! It shouldn’t be that bad I’m just not looking forward to the damn cast.

Speedy recovery, Tyler. And don’t ever do anything to aggravate it! :)
Knock knock, I have never had to wear a cast yet!

Hehe thanks. I try not to do anything to aggravate it but it slowly is driving me insane! It hasn’t even been a full week yet.

Though I have an appointment on Thursday with the Surgeon so I am assuming he’s taking it off to look at the incision and then I guess he’ll be putting a cast back on it. Hope they clean my leg!
