It always makes me smile and helps reassure me that I occasionally take a good photo when I have people ask me to use them in various fashions. Recently I was contacted to have one of my photos used in a magazine called Heritage.

Heritage is published quarterly (4 times a year) by the Heritage Canada Foundation. What is cool about this particular magazine is that it showcases various buildings around Canada that have been part of our history. The current issue (VOL XII, NO.4) talks about Canada’s Sporting Heritage such as the Granite Curling Club in Winnipeg (founded 1880), our beloved Vancouver Rowing Club (built in 1911), Maple Leaf Gardens (opened 1931), Red Mountain Resort in Rossland, BC (1890) and many many more.
Though what is special about this particular issue is that one of my photo was chosen to be in it. One of the photos I took of the Vancouver Rowing Club during the fall when the leaves were turning colours.

It is a pretty cool feeling and experience to see more of my photography in magazines.
The other cool thing about this particular issue, as I was looking through it, was that local Photographer Susan Gittins also has one of her photos published in this issue too! Susan did an awesome job photographing her adventures around the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic games, and it was neat to see another photographer’s name I recognized. Yes, I do check to see who takes photos I like in magazines and newspaper articles, don’t you?
