A couple of weeks ago I drove a friend up to Kelowna BC, so that she could attend a family wedding. I also went because I like the drive and it would be a nice escape for me. Well we hung out during the day and did little touristy things (well ok not so much).
Now if you have ever been to Kelowna you might know about the floating bridge that spans over the Okanagan Lake and how horrible the traffic can be during rush hour. Well that is entirely another story and not the point of this post.
My friend Kim wanted to go to Cheetah’s and we found a small parking lot right next door to the bar and we both thought this was great! I read the sign and it said something about up till 6pm to do with parking. I assumed it was ‘free after 6pm’.
We find out Cheetah’s is closed and someone nearby points us towards the Willow pub (which is closing its doors September 24th 2007) and we hang out there a drink and a couple of shows. We leave and head down to the lake (which is right across the street) and take a few pictures.

Kim also at this time decides to get a Henna Tattoo as well.
Eventually we decide to head back to the car. So when we get back to the car I notice something on my windshield. I am thinking to myself: ‘Oh ok, someone left a flyer’. I pick it up and it is a parking ticket!!

My very first ever parking ticket! They ticketed my car only 2 minutes earlier too. The fun thing was, when we first got there I took the money out to get 2 hours worth of time, but because I read the sign and assumed parking was free after 6 (on a Friday night) I wouldn’t have to worry about it. Well the sign said that UP TO 6pm parking was RESERVED for customers of the building that the lot was attached to.
So my first trip to Kelowna (I’ve driven through a few times) and I get my first ever parking ticket! Oh well the day was fun.

I went to Cheetah’s many years ago! Sucky about the parking ticket, but Kelowna is still nice!

Liquid Zoo was also closed when we were there and it is only 2 buildings down from Cheetah’s. Guess there will be another day to see it.
