Kontera is an in-text contextual advertising company that will hyperlink relevant keywords on websites according to advertiser’s ads. Currently I am running Kontera here on Tyler Ingram dot Com and it’s pretty interesting to see what sort of links it creates based on the content in the posts of mine.

In recent news though Kontera has announced they have expanded their support to include two online environments; Blogger and Drupal. Blogger being the online blogging environment maintained by Google that is similar (but not as good as) Wordpress.com and Drupal being the Open Source Content Management System (CMS) that is growing larger and larger every day.
If you are a user of Blogger or Drupal what does this mean? It means that Kontera has created plugins for you to allow in-text contextual advertising within your content once you’ve signed up with them. Blogger users didn’t have very many options for generating revenue with their blogs and now with Kontera they will be able to have more revenue generating options.
You can read more about this exciting new development from Kontera by reading their press release.

Great info. I have not seen this utilized in a blog post before. Can you use Kontera and adsense on the same post or page? Does it violate adsense policy? Just curious.

According to Kontera and other people it doesn’t seem to interfere with Adsense, but perhaps I’ll look more into that since they are both contextual based.

I have used both successfully together. I am reading through adsense policy right now. Let you know what I find…

Yes you can use the two together, its not a problem! I have also used it for a long time (together with adsense)
