Living Shangri La: Vancouver

Written By Tyler Ingram on Nov 26, 2007

While driving to Stanley Park along West Georgia Street in Vancouver, my brother pointed out something new to me: The Shangri-La; Vancouver’s tallest structure in the downtown core.

Sixty One floors (646 feet) make up this remarkable high-rise which includes 15 floors of residential living ranging from 2566sf to 5875sf for the Penthouse. For those who make a lot of money and want to live up high over the rest of the citizens in Vancouver you can own your own estate suite at a starting price of $3.2 Million.

Also Shangri-La (rated at 5 stars as a hotel) will have 120 rooms of luxury which is the first in North America for the high end resort chain. Another first for Vancouver is always a good thing right?

Completion of the Shangri-La is dated for some time in 2008 which is plenty of time before Vancouver hosts the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

I’ve seen posts for its showrooms kicking around the internet. Perhaps when it’s complete I’ll go back and take pictures of the interior foyer or something. Like a follow up post. Who knows, perhaps they can put me up for a night and I can do a Hotel review ;)
