I went to see SiCKO with a friend the other day and I was impressed. It was my first time seeing a Michael Moore movie and it was better than I had thought. To learn about how bad the American Health Insurance can get is frightening and I appreciate our Canadian Health System even more. I am not saying Canada’s health care is the greatest but the fact I don’t have to worry about which finger I have to choose to save if I accidently cut one off. I mean seriously how could I choose between my middle finger (60,000 USD) or my ring finger (12,000 USD), like that one particular guy had to when his finger met his table saw?
Now I’ve known that there are other countries with better health care systems. In the movie Michael Moore uses England, France and Cuba and if it wasn’t for the cost of living and higher taxes, which allow for these great health care systems, I would probably live life over there. Imagine someone working for the government and coming over to do your laundry! In the movie when Michael Moore is in England and asking about prescriptions how it only would cost you 6.25 pounds no matter the quantity. Now I don’t have prescriptions but a single fee for like 10, 30, 100 pills would be great! How about how one of the ladies who got her prescription in Cuba for only $0.05 when her cost her over $200 USD?? Pharmaceutical companies charge a bit don’t they?
If you haven’t seen a movie recently or you have seen all the good action movies out in theaters I would recommend watching Michael Moore’s SiCKO and get a sense on how bad the American Health Care System can be.

I guess it could be different on how you interpret his movie. I would say he’s trying to inform American’s that there are better options out there for health care and that a change needs to be done so people aren’t screwed around when it comes to personal health.
Seriously why should I choose which finger to keep? Why can’t I keep them both?
