New Facebook App: FriendsChange
Ok now I am not one of those Facebook users who randomly add people to their friends list to make themselves look more popular, but one thing that has been recently bugged me is when my friends count drops and I can’t figure out who removed me as a friend (nor why they would).
My little sister said that I should go through my list and see who has recently left my list but going through 200 names to find out who isn’t there would of be a bit tricky to do. Though some people might argue that if I don’t notice that a particular person is gone then we weren’t the greatest of friends, right? Anyway, that’s another story.
A some of you might know, I did create my first Facebook application (LastOn) but it was a flop due to the way that Facebook cache’s information. My newest idea is a Facebook application called FriendsChange.
FriendsChange is a simple Facebook application that keeps track of your friends list (via their user ids) and stores them in a remote database. When you go to check the application after you’ve noticed a change in your friends count, the application will compare the stored version of the user list against the newest one as you’re viewing it. It will inform you who is new on your list and who has left your list.
Why would I want to know who left, you might ask? Well why not? I am always curious as to why my friends list is smaller and who was the person who though I was not worthy enough to be ‘friends’ with. After all, who wouldn’t want to be my friend?
Some people might not want to who left, but then I don’t force this application on to anyone who isn’t curious who left their little circle of friends.
If you are curious about FriendsChange, I encourage you add it to your Facebook profile. Being that the application is passive (as in you have to interact with it to work), when your friends count changes you will need to click on the FriendChange link in your profile for it to process and compare the information and display the changes to you.
