Osprey in Pitt Meadows

Written By Tyler Ingram on Aug 02, 2007

I went for a photo walk (I guess that is what most bloggers call it) on Monday and brought the Canon EOS 350D (Rebel XT) with me and happened to spy an Osprey circling over head.

Now while I was approaching I was thinking to myself: ‘Mr.Osprey, can you please fly by me close enough so that I may photograph you beauty? After he circled in his thermal for a couple of loops he actually came flying towards me, banked and got even closer! Do birds read minds or was I just really lucky?

Now I wish the lens was a bit better then the kit lens that the Canon Rebel came with (18-55mm isn’t a great telephoto) but you can see by the picture how close the Osprey got to me! Luckily with the quick response time of the EOS 350D I was able to take a bunch of shots before the Osprey flew away down river.

best I could get with a 18-55mm lens on the Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel of an Osprey in Flight
