Photo of the Day: White Rock Pier

Lately the weather has been fairly good here in the Vancouver area. Though, the weather is supposed to start going towards the cloudy, rainy sort that Vancouverites are used to seeing.
Yesterday evening we went for a quick walk along the promenade here in White Rock. It seemed that a lot of other people had the same idea. Granted, not as many people as say the West End would have, but enough to make me think twice about coming down during a sunny weekend. I’m not big on crowds.
I typically keep my CP (circular polarizer) on my 18-55mm lens, but since I shoot with my 70-300mm more often, I should probably leave it on that lens. The CP does affect the light coming through the lens by 2 stops, but that is easily compensated when it’s a bright sunny day out.
I took a couple photos and then realized that I did not have my polarizer on. I came to this conclusion because when I looked at the LCD on my camera, the photo didn’t look like it did when I looked around. I did have my polarized sunglasses on, and then realized I should put my circular polarizer on the lens! I like how the CP can add great contrast, of course how it can remove reflections of surfaces such as water and glass is also a bonus.
Do you have a circular polarizer? If so, how often do you use it?
