I remember one spider, when I live in Burnaby and about the size of a softball (wolf variety) I picked up and moved around to get him into better light. yes without a glass/cup or anything too. When James and I lived in Burnaby (and I was suffering from a bit of "empty nest" syndrome after the death of my childhood kitty) we had a large spider something like that on our balcony. I hung out with her out there a lot and named her Charlotte, which is weird cuz I really don't like spiders.
