Photography: Coal Harbour, Vancouver

Writen By Tyler Ingram on May 29, 2008

The other day Robyn and I were doing a bit of shopping for myself and after my purchases (Nike+ Running Shoes from the Running Room) we decided to head across the street over to Coal Harbour and go for a small walk along the Stanley Park Seawall.

The sun was out, the sky was clear and I have always enjoyed taking photos of the City of Vancouver. The marina was full of various boats and yachts and there were a few other people enjoying the warm cloudless weather.

The surrounding buildings are also quite nice to look at especially the area around the Westin Bayshore, but I’ll just post a few of the photos I took that day so you can enjoy some of the visual stimulus our beautiful city has to offer.

The seawall around Stanley Park is one of my favorite walks, it is also great to rollerblade around if it is not to busy with tourists on those rare sunny days. Sometimes you can even see habour seals in the marina swimming around too.

  • Wow! Those are really really beautiful. The blues really pop. What sort of camera are you using?

  • Canon SD750 :) Nothing special, just point n shoot sort of deal.

  • Ah, that’s actually very good news to me, as I’ve been thinking about getting a plain old Canon Powershot type dealie for my next camera. I bought a refurbished Kodack easyshare a few years ago for jewellery photography and while it’s still great for that, I wouldn’t mind having a newer (read: smaller) point and shoot type thing for carrying around with me. Not that my camera’s huge, but if it’s bigger than a Nintendo DS I’m less likely to carry it everywhere. XD

  • I remember going to Vancouver for vacation once. It was such a beautiful place! I did go to stanley park but i don’t exactly remember the wall around it. I hope to move to Vancouver one day =/

  • There is also a seawall in West/North Vancouver which looks towards Stanley Park etc. It’s usually not as busy as the Stanley Park one because not many tourists head over the north shore but it is quite nice.

  • Those are really beautiful photos. Must put Vancover on my places to visit list!

  • Whew…
    That so beautiful pictures…
