Well it seems to be that season again, you know the one with the wooden (I guess now it’s more graphite) stick and round white ball? Now I’m not talking about snooker, I’m talking about Baseball!
Well I guess it is more Slow-Pitch Softball than what I am used to which is hardball. So a friend at work mentioned that she and her mom are on a team and I asked if there would be room for me because I miss playing the sport. It turns out they have room for me and I went to a practice today and I had a ton of fun. I even drove a line-drive right back at the pitcher (who was the coach) and nailed him square in the arm! He shook it off but I felt bad.
I definitely need cleats though because I kept slipping on my butt because the grass was wet. But boy did I enjoy playing. It took a bit but I found the sweet spot for the bat (it kept vibrating horribly on my hands before) and I just started belting them out. They thought it was pretty neat I could change where I wanted the ball to go i.e. Left, Center or Right field. I guess playing ball since I was a little sprout and having a family who played the game helped with learning the fundamentals.
So is anyone out there playing ball this year? So far it looks like it could be a fun team and our next practice is next Sunday (yea that is Easter isn’t it?).

I never really got into baseball… or many other sports for that matter. But when it comes to college football, I am counting down the days til the season opener!!
