Blog Updates:

Since I’ve had the opportunity to work from home with the joys of a laptop so that I can lounge around on the couch I’ve been looking at small things on my little blog site. The main thing I noticed was that recently I’ve gone from a PageRank of 0 to a PageRank of 5! To me that is a crazy increase and I love it. I guess some of the posts on my blog have been somewhat important and I have people linking to them. Or could it be due to my ability to Blog Hopscotch and have my URL plastered in various areas around the Interweb.

I’ve also changed the little menu headers, just a simple Photoshop header with a semi-glossy kind of effect. I’m still learning to create better web graphics with Photoshop since that is my lacking skill that I would love to be able to develop so that I can create better web sites and become more confident when working on projects for clients.

I’ve also been working on a website for a buddy at work. He’s getting married this summer and him and his fiancé have requested I create a small wedding website for them so people can look at it for information about their wedding; i.e. directions to the wedding and reception, local hotel  locations, registry options etc.

I’ve also notice, and some of you might have too, that my MyAvatars addition has been acting funny. I’m not sure why caused it because I have not played with the code since I first implemented it but I was able to figure out what it was and fixed it without much trouble. It was as simple as leaving out the http:// from a URL in a variable that broke the images being loaded properly. I have not yet found a developer section for MyBlogLog but luckily I had a copy of MyAvatars code that I could look at and see what was different. Now MyAvatars is a plug-in for Wordpress that allows you to display the avatars of your commentors as long as they have a MyBlogLog account. I had to take the code and modify it slightly so that I could use it on my non-Wordpress blog.

Injury Update:

Next week I have to make an appointment with the Surgeon so that I can have my cast removed and he can take out the aluminum stitches and see how I am healing. He gave me two options for the type of cast I can have put back on. I can go back with a Fiberglass cast like I currently have and hop around on crutches or I can go with a cast that has a heel in it (walking cast) and start walking again. I am so tired of this cast, I’ve had it for 3 weeks (I know people out there have had casts on longer) but I am tired of hopping around or using the crutches, tired of crawling up stairs when I am to tired or sore to hop up them, having to balance myself awkwardly when having to pee and giving myself sponge baths! He said with the walking cast I would be allowed to have showers again. Sure I could bag my leg, but I can’t stand on one leg in the shower that could be…..fatal.   But on the other hand, if I go with a fiberglass cast it would ensure that my Achilles tendon has a proper time healing and fixing itself so that I won’t tear it anytime soon which would be a good thing, image if I were to tear it again and have to have them reattach it?
