Some Small Changes To TylerIngram.com
I have done some small changes here and they are as follows:
Removed the page numbers from the navigation at the top and made it just Previous Page and Next Page. The number pages were looking a bit ugly when you were reaching the 41st page and I didn’t feel like cleaning up the code just to show a certain amount of pages.
Added Google’s 250×250 square AdSense back into my index pages. The majority of my traffic hits the root of my site so I am looking to see if this will improve my AdSense earning as they are non-existent. I would really just like to see how they function as a Pay-Per-Click kind of advertising. I guess it will take a little bit for Google to base the ads on the content. I’ve used the Optimization Tips over on their AdSense page to try and target the content to the Ads.
Things I need to work on:
I need to create a better header image. As you can probably see it looks a bit, grainy and the quality isn’t very good. I guess that is what I get for rasterizing the text in Photshop and using Save-For-Web feature at medium quality. Around the text it is bit grainy. The photo I took myself but the dimensions are a bit out of proportion.
I need to look at modifying my script a bit to allow delayed posts and approved/not-approved posts. That way I can do a write up and have it released at a later time of the day. Being able to approved/disapprove posts will also allow me to preview the post before it goes live. Sometimes if you catch it right you might see me in the middle of post and on a refresh it might look different. LOL
Polls - I hope to create a separate page that will display the current poll as well as previous polls along with their statistics. This isn’t very hard to do, but it will take some time to work out the details on how I want it to function.
Categories - They don’t really exist. I select one category when I create my post but I don’t display it anywhere on the site like a WordPress blog does. I need to sit down and think of a strategy to best handle them. I wanted to stay away from another table in the database but I think the only way to handle them properly is to create their own table and link them to the blog post table. Sounds good right?

You also need to make your header clickable. I keep trying to click it to bring me back to the main page, and it doesn’t click. How sad!
