I don't understand the early rush for the stores to get Christmas decor and merchandise out, either. It's insane! I am looking forward to some great homecooked food, and I love ringing in the new year. I can't believe it's almost here already!

Actually that shot was done here at work with a compact-digi 5MP camera and a $2000 lightbox. Still though my DIY lightbox does pretty good.

As for photography I am waiting for the larger dumps of snow so I can head up to the local mountains and get shots of trees buried in the snow :)

What I look forward to the most is the peaceful quiet that can only be found on a snowy winter night. The best example that I have is the Christmas I spent in Scotland, nothing tops sitting in the court yard of the local Kirk. Lights illuminating the snowflakes as they dance towards the earth, and looking up into the dark sky and feeling them as they fall on my face.
Nothing beats the sound of snowflakes on a beautiful silent night.
