Wind and Rain Slam into BC, Canada

Writen By Tyler Ingram on Dec 15, 2006

Well we had yet again another storm hit our lovely location of western BC.  With winds up to 150km per hour which is close to hurricane force winds knocking over trees and disrupting power for more residents of BC.

BC Hyrdo says there is roughly 200,000 residents without power and that doesnt include the islands that have not had power for the past week and not expect to have power for at least another week.  You can read more of it at CBCs website: Storm Hammers B.C; 200,000 without power

This morning I had to shave and shower by candle light, thankfully I was able to find a few candles while stumbling around looking for the flashlight.

The drive in was also a treat, I drove around and over trees in Coquitlam.  I saw some pretty large trees that where fallen over due to the extreme wind forces.  Rain mixed in with Snow was not bad, I was told that various locations around the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley received various snow levels as well.

On a side note: It seems that my FCKeditor is acting weird, I am unable to use some puncuation marks such as apostrophies which makes typing a bit tricker. Hitting the apostrophy key brings up Firefoxs Find window and makes my editor window loose focus.
