Can I Increase My Traffic For August?

There has not been a great deal of updates for the past few days and the main reason is, I just have not been near a computer for which I can sit in front of and write out blog posts. Why you might ask? The reason is simple, I have been enjoying the beautiful summer weather we have been receiving here in British Columbia and I also have not been at home for the past few days. No comptuer and no Internet made our mini-vacation great!

With a new month the plan is fairly simple, write new blog posts, reflect on previous months statistics (at a glimpse, there has been yet again another increase in traffic and the trend is for it to continue to go up), I have plans for another little contest for people who visit Tyler Ingram dot Com and it will be very simple, I also have to talk about my adventures to the Gulf Islands of BC and why I dislike having a Privatized ferry system.

Helliwell Park - Hornby Island
Helliwell Provincial Park - HDR

But I will leave you with one thing as I get ready for writing some new posts that will hopefully tickle your fancy. The above shot was taken at Helliwell Provincial Park on Hornby Island in BC and yes it is an HDR (high dynamic range) photo and I am quite happy with its result. I have to go through the photos I took and see what other shots I might be able to get decent HDR results from so stay tuned!

Don’t forget, I’ll be holding a contest this month which will be relatively easy to participate in and I hope you will help spread the word about it once I get the details in.

The Secret In Making Money Online Made Me Lots Of Money!

As some of you out there in the online world know Market Leverage is one of the larger Affiliate Marketing companies on the Internet and so far they have been the friendliest and most active companies I have dealt with for online marketing and revenue generation. They also sent me my commission which somewhat blew me away!

I am not as active in using advertisements on my site as some people but Market Leverage is a company that I do enjoy checking out periodically to see what sort of offers they have for their publishers. I primarily use their 125×125 ads when I see something that might be interesting to my readers and visitors. Though all my hard work in trying to figure out CPA (cost-per-action) affiliate marketing and how it works in order to help increase my revenue on my site all paid off when I received my first cheque!

My $1.70 Cheque from Market Leverage

That is right! As you can see from the above photo I have made a total of $1.70 and they sent me a cheque for it too. Now that might not be anything of interest to anyone but it is how they sent it to me that I found a bit odd for my payment; they sent it via FedEx Express!

Now sending a document via FedEx Express from US to Canada must cost more than $1.70 right? Besides they also sent me a letter stating that they were excited for having my business and also included a color print of the more popular offers they have.

I did appreciate them sending me a cheque and expressing that they were excited in sending me the money that I have earned with them for a month though at $1.70 I would not have expected a cheque yet have it shipped to me overnight via FedEx Express. It is nice to see that Market Leverage does care about their clients and want you to receive your money as soon as possible, but for people who made as much as I did, was it really financially efficient to send me my $1.70 cheque?

I do recommend Market Leverage to people out there looking to generate some extra income through CPA affiliate advertising especially because the people at Market Leverage are great, friendly and willing to help you out when you need it.

At times I do wonder if CPA marketing is right for my site, but I will continue to play around with what Market Leverage has to offer me, if not then at least I’ll have more experience with the various affiliate marketing companies out there. Perhaps someone out there can better explain to me how I can utilize CPA marketing?

Dot Com Pho Vancouver

In Vancouver a bunch of us DotCom’ers try and get together for some good ol’ Vietnamese Pho and we quest to find the perfect Pho restaurant especially one that is close to local transportation such as Bus Stops or SkyTrain Stations in order to entice more people to come out and join in on the fun.

Now according to some people there are rumours that DotComPho is dead, but it is not. Just because one person does not want to leave his neighbourhood for Pho does not mean that we no longer do it. Sure John has a 5 minutes drive to Pho Lan in Richmond, but none of us actually live in or near enough Richmond to make the journey. It takes me almost an hour to get out to Richmond and with today’s gas prices it just isn’t economical for me to do so.

dotcompho

This edition of DotComPho was at Cuu Long Restaurant in Vancouver which was just a couple blocks away from the last DotComPho I attended (Pho Thai Hoa) so finding it was not too difficult. At the recommendation of Greg Morgan, who did not show up because he was at PemFest, it was not as great as it was hyped up to be, but it was not as bad as it could have been either.

In attendance this week were Stephen Fung, Michael Kwan, Leo Chiang and Michael “FATAL1TY” Yurechko (supposedly Michael resembles the professional gamer known as FATAL1TY). Various topics were discussed such as Apple products (like overheating of a Macbook Air to 90+ degrees Celsius), an upcoming movie about the Mayan calendar to be shot in Vancouver (at a hefty starting budget of $250M) and various other topics of interest.

Ok so what did I eat?

phospecial

The Pho Special - Rare Beef, Beef Balls and perhaps Tripe? Not sure what one of the items was in it but it was textured like a tongue. At bit on the salty side.

springrolls

Spring Rolls, a bit crunchy and I also had troubles picking it up, I’m not great at using chopsticks.

icedcoffee

This is the first time I tried the Iced Coffee and I quite liked it even if we had to ask for more hot water. It’s pretty cool since the coffee drips there while you eat your food.

Again I enjoyed eating Pho and talking about whatever internet geek type people talk about. Though perhaps we can mix it up and try something different with a bigger place to hold more people? I would like to see more people out to these DotComPho and make it a weekly or bi-weekly event.

If you want to check out the video and the Gadget of the Week head on over to Stephen’s blog!
