Photography
My first interest in Photography was back in Grade 6 when my Grandfather let me use his 35mm Pentax Asahi SLR camera. He taped the generic exposure chart onto the back of the camera body so I can get accustomed to setting a properly exposed photo using whatever film I put into it. Setting the aperture and shutter speed back then was pretty mysterious to me. After taking the camera out into the wilderness of Pitt Meadow’s Grant Narrows Regional Park, I was hooked.
Today I try and take my camera out everywhere I go. If the situation does not accommodate my digital SLR, I try and bring my more compact Canon SD750.
My Equipment (so far)
- Canon XSi (EOS 450D)
- Canon SD750 (compact digital camera)
- BG-E5 Battery Grip
- Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM
- Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS (kit lens)
- Canon EF 75-300mm f4.0-5.6 III USM
- Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II (nifty 50)
- Sigma EF-530 DG Super Flash
Other
- Velbon Tripod (some generic tripod with quick release)
Media Accredited Events
In an effort to gain more photography experience and network within the industry, I have been looking at ways of being media accredited for various events around the Metro Vancouver area. Events I have attended as media have been:
- LG FISĀ Snowboard Worldcup 2009 at Cypress Mountain
- Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival 2009
I am always looking for more events which I can attend as a photographer not only to increase my experience and portfolio, but to also do what I love doing most; capture the world around me digitally.
Photography Interests
There are many things I love to capture digitally with my camera and in no particular order:
- Sporting events (pretty much everything from Snowboarding to Surfing to Baseball and Hockey)
- Wildlife
- Landscapes (Travel destinations, local hot spots)
- Concerts (Large venue, private venues, outdoor public concerts)
Here on Tyler Ingram dot Com I write about my various photography adventures as they happen. I’ll talk about where the photos were shot, why I shot them and how I went about it. I will also share tips, tricks and other information about the photography world as I explore it. Mix all this in with my other interests, and I am sure there will be something always interesting to read here.
