Now I don’t normally do weddings and I’ve only photographed a few of them over the years. This particular wedding is a bit more personal as it was my Dad’s. It was a nice, fun filled backyard family event too so for me it was a bit more relaxed that a normal wedding might be.

The day itself was a hot and sunny summer day with temperatures near the lower 30’s. My biggest worry was the mid-day sun and its position to the south-facing backyard that the wedding took place (aside from baking in the sun). It ended up not being as bad as I thought it was and I really enjoyed working my way around the backyard capturing the event.

Here are a few photos from the beautiful backyard wedding!

Would I photograph more weddings? I would consider it; perhaps smaller more intimate ones to start though.

One thing I would have liked to have done more of in this particular event would probably be more detail images. The flowers (done by my sister-in-law and the hydrangeas from my backyard) were beautiful, the rings themselves perhaps alone would have been a nice detail image, the archway where the couple stood was beautiful, as well as the little flower arrangements on the license signing table that my older sister created.
